14 July 2020 onwards – North Norfolk Wheelers Time Trials

North Norfolk Wheelers relaunched their local time trial series on 14th July with a 10 mile TT on the Pretty Corner course.  Time trialing is the most socially distanced form of cycle sport and may be a good way to test your bike fitness while triathlon is off the menu.  You can find details on www.nnwheelers.co.uk/time-trials/events/.

15 August 2020 – Tour de Broads Rally – Great Yarmouth

The Tour de Broads Rallyé Series is a unique and brand-new cycling event designed for the challenges of 2020. Ride 25, 50, 75 or 100 miles on fully signposted circular routes, or choose your own bespoke route. Some club members are setting off from North Norfolk, aiming to be at the event village in Great Yarmouth between 12 noon and 1pm. You can find more details about the event on https://thepedalrevolution.co.uk/events/.

22 August 2020 – Wells Harbour Swim

Swimming in the harbour has been restricted this year, but we are fortunate to have secured two swims on the triathlon course. The swims have to target the high tide to keep it safe. The second session will be on Saturday 22nd August, 8.45am swim, so be on the quay side ready to swim fifteen minutes before as the peak of the tide can vary a little. A no cost session but you must book your swim in advance.

29 August 2020 – Open Water Swim at Holkham Hall

Thank you to Ben Hunter-Watts and the Holkham Hall Estate for allowing us to swim in their lake on the afternoon of Saturday 29th August. This venue is not normally open for swimming, so we are fortunate to have this opportunity. While this is a no cost session, you must book your place in advance. This swim will also form the first part of the next club challenge.

29-31 August 2020 – August Bank Holiday Challenge

This will be an inter club challenge, not a race, with the West Suffolk Wheelers Triathlon Club including a lake swim at Holkham Hall, a road bike and a run. This will be an Ironman distance challenge over the three days, a tough workout for the individuals, but more manageable if you put together a relay team. You can have a swimmer, biker and runner, or work as a team which takes on each leg. It is completely flexible, should be fun. The aim is for the individual or team to cover the Ironman distance over the three days, how fast you go is not important.

12-13 September 2020 – Camping and Training Weekend

We have booked the North Walsham lake and camping ground for the weekend of 12/13th September.  We will deliver a social event with swim/bike/run activity through the weekend.  Susie and Tracey are developing the social aspects of the weekend while the coaches develop the training activity.  Camping will not be necessary but available to those who wish to stay overnight at the site. Exactly what we can do will of course depend on the restrictions in force at the time.
